We are an experienced multidisciplinary team of OT's, Physio's, Speechie's and AHA's, and we pride ourselves on looking out for each other, working collaboratively, delivering high quality client-centred outcomes for children and families, and serving our community.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Psychologist with a passion for helping children and families!

Our Vision - Our dream…

To create a community where all children, regardless of their developmental delays or disabilities, and their families, are valued and are given every opportunity to realise their value.

Our Mission - What drives us, everyday…

  • To help children with developmental delays and disabilities to move and play to the best of their abilities, and provide them with a pathway to living their best life.

  • To empower and connect parents and families so they can create a meaningful life beyond therapy.

  • To build a community that wholeheartedly includes and supports children of all abilities and their families to live their best lives.

We are on the lookout for a motivated, fun, and passionate Psychologist to join our team!

Whether you’re an experienced clinician seeking the next exciting step in your career or a new graduate eager to begin your journey in paediatric practice, we’d love to hear from you.

If you share our vision and values, we’ll provide a supportive environment and an amazing career pathway to help you thrive as a Psychologist and as a person.

  • As a Psychologist with Move and Play, you will be responsible for supporting children and adolescents, and their families with a variety of developmental, neurodevelopmental, disability, or mental health presentations. Our service uses a collaborative family centred approach and delivers supports using a mix of in clinic and community-based services.

You will work both independently and collaboratively with the rest of the team to provide therapeutic supports for children and, when relevant, their family members. Therapeutic interventions may include individualised 1:1 sessions, small group therapy, telehealth-based therapy, as well as workshops and seminars.

To support the growth of our clinic, we are very excited to introduce Psychology as an additional service and discipline. As this position will be new, we will work alongside you and an external mentor to establish a clear scope of practice that combines both our service goals and your clinical strengths and experience. We have established clinical and professional development programs, including internal and external mentoring and career development pathways, to enable your continued learning and growth.

      • An amazing multidisciplinary team to be part of. We work closely together, offer joint appointments with 2 or 3 disciplines, and support each other to provide holistic quality care to children and families.

      • Flexible work and roster options – A variety to choose from including 4-day week, 9-day fortnight, 4 ½ days a week, work from home days or half days - we are dedicated to ensuring your roster suits your lifestyle!

      • Structured in house mentoring with an experienced team of senior therapists and team leaders. We will set you up with an external mentor to provide you with the specific support needed for your clinical practice.

      • Diary schedules that ensure you have enough time to do ‘all the things’ - we have dedicated time for report writing, non-face to face activities, mentoring, meetings etc.

      • 15 minutes minimum of dedicated preparation and planning time before or after every appointment so you have time to reflect and plan for each client session.

      • Flexible ‘project block’ hour in your diary each day that you can use for client related activities, mentoring, or completing projects.

      • Team lunches, social activities, and team R&R sessions to connect with each other and keep our vibe high.

      • Professional development allowance and leave to help you attend training and events.

      • Structured career pathways and regular guidance to continually foster your growth. We hope to grow our psychology service in the future, to ultimately providing an opportunity for team leadership for the right candidate.

      • Dedicated administrative support from our Client Services Team so you can focus on the clinical needs of our clients.

      • Live and work in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. A great place for people of any age looking for a fun, relaxed, friendly place to live. We have everything you could want or need, without the hustle and bustle (and cost!) of city living.

      • Relocation funding is available if you will be moving to Mackay for the role.

      • AHPRA registered psychologist (full registration preferred, however will consider provision registration)

      • Current Professional Indemnity Insurance

      • Current driver's licence

      • NDIS worker screening check

      • Vaccination against COVID-19

      • Creativity and passion for helping children be the best they can be
